(1)     No Pay For NRA Workers

Workers at the National Revenue Authority have been informed that they will not receive their monthly salary and allowances until “further notice”. An internal memo clarified that the Board was yet to approve the authority’s budget for this financial year.

Unfortunately, the Board Chairman, G. Melvin Tucker and the authority’s Acting Commissioner General, Haja Kallah Kamara are at logger heads.

“The Board Chairman does not even attend board meetings because he sees the Acting Commissioner General as grossly incompetent to handle such a large institution”, observed a board member.

The Ministry of Finance, which supervises NRA had also rejected the authority’s budget in 2011 because it was poorly prepared.
